Fire Starter Baskets - $10

• Baskets


• Pinecones


• Ribbion or Raffia


• Herbs (optional)


• Pine fire starters


• Matches


• Paraffin Wax (optional)

My mom and I made this last season. We went localy and picked up pine cones. We got baskets from the thrift store for less then $1. We put hebs in the bottom of our basket for some extra small. You can get pine sticks at almost any retailer. We got box matches at the dollar store and used raffia for decoration and to hold on the tag.

The wax you can color and scent if you want. Just melt and dip your pine cones in. Paraffin wax is the only wax that will actually burn. I dont think it's needed but it give a cool look to things.

Record Bowl - $5 or less

Things you will need:

• Record


• Oven


• Oven mits


• Steel or glass bowl

That's all you need. I went to thr thrift store and picked up an old record. I looked for a title or a label that looked suiting for the person I was giving the gift to. Heat the oven to 200 degrees and place the record over a bowl upside down or on top of a bowl rightside up. Eitehr way works. I found it works best if I shape it myself to get a move even look. It will get soft in about 10-15 mins and you can mold it. I used oven mits or a hand towel. I had to play with it quite a bit to get it the way I wanted but it was only the second one I did. Fill it with candy and tite it with ribbon. IT makes the perfect place to put wallet and keys.

Candy Dishes - $20

I found this on another blog and thought it was adorable. Just paint and glue.

• Acrylic or spray paint


• Ribbon


• Glass bowls


• Wooden knobs

Christmas in August

Every year, all year I'm planing for the Christmas season. This year I'm expected a special gift. My baby girl is due on Christmas day. So I definatly have a reason to get started early. I like using recycles good, inexpensive item and old broken items. Please enjoy.
